Commonly Held Beliefs

You may hold a belief about the applicability of activity-based workload modelling or an ideal staffing model that proves unfounded in practice. Perhaps you already use planning software. Your situation may seem too specific, or you may feel that you currently do not have the time. These are understandable considerations. On closer examination, however, they rarely prove to be genuine obstacles. Instead, they are assumptions worth challenging. By modelling workflows and staffing requirements, we create value, insight and confidence for a wide range of businesses.   What if this very belief is preventing you from taking the next step? Discover commonly held beliefs and our response to each one.

I already have planning software

That is a good starting point. Our Workload Planner and Workforce Planner software integrates with many planning systems and can also connect through standard APIs. We would be happy to explain the added value our software can bring within your existing planning environment. We can also help you assess how fully you are already using the potential of your current planning software.

I already have a calculation model that guides my decisions

It is good that you already have a calculation model and use it to guide your decisions. Our core expertise lies in modelling workflows and optimal staffing levels. If you are interested in the differences between your calculation model and our software, we would be happy to explore them with you. This will enable you to decide for yourself whether opportunities exist and where they may lie.

I need a WFM solution before I can get started with this approach

Although implementing a WFM solution is a very good idea, you do not need to wait before modelling your workflows. We help you define clear requirements for a WFM solution that fits your business. A Quick Scan also provides insight into existing opportunities that you can take into account when selecting and implementing a WFM solution.

This approach is too complex for my business

Our clients vary widely in size. Here you can see the businesses we work with. Drawing on many years of experience, we avoid unnecessary complexity and develop solutions that fit your specific situation.

My business is not ready for this yet

That may be the case. But this could also be an opportunity for your business to benefit from WFM. You would not be the first to do so. We would be happy to discuss this with you in a free, no-obligation introductory meeting.

Our collective labour agreements and planning rules are too specific for a standard model

Our software can incorporate HR-related provisions from collective labour agreements, as well as relevant laws and regulations. The same applies to planning rules, although these are usually configured within the planning system itself.

We do not have our data under control yet, so this will not work for us

Perfect data is not required. The key parameters needed to use the software effectively are often already available. If you are unsure, we would be happy to assess this with you before you get started.

I know more about my operations than you do

That is true. You know your operations better than we do. At the same time, you can benefit from our models, benchmarks and applications. Combining these with your practical experience enables you to achieve the best possible results. We do not tell you what you already know. Instead, we complement your knowledge with our experience and extensive database.

My priorities lie elsewhere at the moment, and I need to address those first

That is precisely when new insights and a fresh external perspective can help. In many cases, it may even be worthwhile to take a moment to reassess your current priorities. If in doubt, you can always contact us to exchange thoughts and ideas.

I currently have neither the time nor the capacity for this

In some cases, that is true. However, now may be exactly the right time to build a solid foundation. This can be done step by step, allowing you to start benefiting soon. We would be happy to work with you to determine what is needed and the most logical sequence of steps.

If the matter is urgent, we respond quickly and help you gain clarity about what is genuinely required.

This approach is not scalable enough for our business

Our software, services, approach and way of working are suitable for businesses [clients] of different sizes. See here which businesses we have already worked with.

Ultimately, it is only about cutting costs

Efficiency is often equated with being “faster” or “cheaper”. Sometimes that is true, but it is not the central objective. Efficiency gives you control over quality and labour costs, while also improving employee satisfaction and creating greater stability across the business. Moreover, doing ordinary things exceptionally well leads to satisfied customers, guests and visitors.

We focus on quality, so this approach is not right for us

A focus on quality and control of labour costs are not mutually exclusive. On the contrary, they can reinforce each other. Control over processes, planning and workflows creates the conditions for consistently high quality.

This will be at the expense of my employees

We consistently find that greater control over planning, work organisation and structured workflows has a positive effect on employee satisfaction. Good organisation and communication create predictability and stability across the business.

We are too small and already operate with minimum staffing, so modelling would add little value

When staffing is already at a minimum, every hour counts. Modelling reveals where vulnerabilities arise and where even small adjustments can make a significant difference. In some cases, experience also shows that additional capacity at specific times can lead to higher sales. This is a key advantage of workload-based modelling using sales data.

Our labour costs are largely fixed

Efficiency is not solely about labour costs. It is also about smarter planning and organisation. In many cases, this can unlock additional opportunities.

A focus on productivity only delivers short-term results

A productivity standard that fits the business and is tailored to the parameters of each location also creates long-term value. It represents a structural improvement, not a short-term measure.
